Most people don't know they have gallstones until they have a scan but that's not the case for some patients. Gallstones are small but very annoying, causing repetitive symptoms and sometimes can make you very ill indeed. Keyhole gallbladder surgery is incredibly safe when done expertly and properly but can be dangerous when it's not. Read more here.

GORD/acid reflux can be painful, annoying or damaging and seriously affect your quality of life. Anti-reflux surgery using a fundoplication or other alternatives is one of the most satisfying operations because of the extremely high success rates. It's safe and highly effective. Read more here.

Hernias are common all over the body but especially after a tear or damage to the muscles of the abdomen or groin. Since the hernia will not repair itself, the only treatment for a hernia is an operation. Depending on the site there are various ways of fixing hernias but I can fix most hernias using either a laparoscopic (keyhole) approach or open surgery. I try to utilise a TEP approach to groin hernias as this has the least risk and the least discomfort. Read more here.
